Managing Director

Athos Demetriou Tillyris was born in 1957 at Limassol Cyprus.

He graduated from the Science Section of Lanitium Gymnasium in 1975 with excellent marks (19,6 / 20).

He served for 26 months at the Cyprus National Guard between 1975 - 1977.

Between  the years 1977 - 1980 , he studied Computing Science at the University of Essex in England and he was awarded the B.Sc.(Hons) degree in Computing Science from the School of Mathematical Studies. He was the 1st Cypriot who came first in the Computing Department at Essex. During his 3rd year of studies he was appointed Programming Lab Supervisor.

After his studies he was offered a lecturer job at the University of Patras in Greece , but he preferred to return and work in Cyprus.


During the years 1980 - 1986 he worked as a Senior Analyst / Programmer , Computer Consultant, and Manager with LK Computer Consultants.

In 1985 he founded ADA COMPUTER EDUCATION LTD , the first approved School for Computer Studies in Limassol by the Ministry of Education.  He wrote 4 books about Computer Principles and Computer Programming and he continued lecturing until 1990.

Since 1986 ADA COMPUTER EDUCATION LTD is offering Services in Computer Consultancy and Software.  Mr. Tillyris is the Managing Director and Senior Consultant of ADA as well as the major shareholder.

In 1999 ADA COMPUTER EDUCATION LTD was registered under the name ADA COMPUTER SOFTWARE to reflect more the company activities which are primary the Development , Maintenance and Sales of Computer Software. ADA has become one of the most reputable Computer Software Houses in Cyprus with sales not only in Cyprus but as far as the Philippines.

Mr. Tillyris has vast experience in the Areas of Business ERP Software, Accounting, Ship Management, Shipping, Travel, Banking, Insurance etc.

In 1990 he was appointed Financial Director of the family business D.TILLYRIS LTD, one of the biggest Industries in Marbles, Granites, Mosaics and Natural Stones in Cyprus. He is also one of the major shareholders.


A library and a charity organization.

The library is consisting of over 15.000 books and items and according to its constitution it will be donated to Limassol.

During 1999 he was elected as President of the Computer Companies Association in Limassol which was a member of  Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EBEL).

From October 2000 he became the 1st President of the Cyprus Information Technology Companies Association (CITCA) which is a member of Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), a position he holds to date,  and he is a member of the Higher Advisory Body of CCCI. 

On January 2001 he has been nominated as a Charter member of the English speaking Rotary Club of Limassol - Berengaria Cosmopolitan and he served as Charter Secretary for the first two years. On April 2001 he became a member of  ICUFR  which is The International Computer Users Fellowship of Rotarians.

In March 2002 Mr. Tillyris represented Cyprus at it's 1st participation in a Computer Exhibition at SETI Paris, in November 2005 at the Infosystems Exhibition in Salonika Greece and in 2010 at the ICT Conference in Brussels representing CCCI. 

In  2005  represented CCCI and CITCA at the Cyprus Standardization Organization (CYS) at the Information Technology and Telecommunications Committee.

From year 2008 represents CCCI at the Human Resources Development Association of Cyprus (HRDA) (Αρχή Ανάπτυξης Ανθρώπινου Δυναμικού - ΑνΑΔ) for Information Technology Issues.

In 2011 he became Member of the Board of Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EBEL). 

He is a member of various Computer Professional Associations in Cyprus, England and the United States and a founder member of the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS)

In the past he was actively involved in Politics and particularly during the years 1986 to 1993 were he hold various positions in one of the major political parties of Cyprus. 

He collects books, magazines, brochures and other related material about Cyprus and especially Limassol as well as Postal History before 1974 especially for the occupied by Turkey part of Cyprus. He also enjoys writing and many of his articles (mainly about Computers, Politics, History of Limassol and Religion) were published in the local daily and periodical press. 

In 2011 his first Poetry Collection was published with the title "POETIC LISTENING" (Ποιητικά Ακούσματα)". All proceedings were donated to the Limassol Red Cross children recovery center.

In 2013 he published his new book "50 Years of Limassol Chamber of Commerce & Industry - Golden Jubilee and the History of Commercial and Industrial Limassol". 

He also created a Multimedia DVD about Virgin Mary, Mother of God, her life through Icons and a new book about Limassol called "Limassol References" - Λεμεσιανές Αναφορές. 

Currently, he is computerizing the bibliography of Cyprus from ancient times to today, something that has never been done before.

On 05/12/2019 he founded the library and charity organization ΑΘΩΝΕΙΟΣ ΒΙΒΛΙΟΘΗΚΗ ΚΑΙ ΙΔΡΥΜΑ ΠΟΛΙΤΙΣΜΟΥ.
